ReplyDeleteshe was 34lbs last time I checked. She has a lot of hair,like poofy, so she looks bigger than she is. Right now she is a walking knot. So hard to stay on top of them without hurting her. Here of a good brush for knotted fur let me know.

Pippin's fur is quite silky (she must get that from dad), but our sheltie has the poofy fur that gets matted really easily. We usually give her a bath using a good dog shampoo, and brush her afterward. We use a slicker brush, and then follow it up with a brush called the Furminator. It helps get rid of the undercoat so there's less shedding, and less fur to get knotted. I don't know if it will help with the knots that are there currently, but regular use will prevent them!

Michelle said "Slicker Brush" and she has a certain way of brushing it that might help you.

BTW Alison, Ashley is the one with fur like silk.
The merles tend to have the really soft soft fur.
Brady seemed to get the hairiest one of all!
She got really thick fur like her dad along with a ton of the soft silkie coat like Pippy Long Schnout and Bandit.
Michll3 might just put a video up here on a trick to getting the undercoat out of Trixies coat.
